What it is for
This module teaches you to turn your team's activity into decisions. You'll learn where the reports live in Maint Vision, how to read each metric without drawing the wrong conclusion, and how to spot the assets and parts that weigh on your budget and your time. The goal is simple: move past gut feeling and bring reliable numbers to leadership. We stay honest about what the product actually measures, so you never quote a figure the tool doesn't compute.
Key concepts
- MTTR (mean time to repair), completion rate and preventive rate: three health metrics that summarize how efficient and how balanced your maintenance is.
- On-time compliance, backlog (accumulated overdue work) and throughput: your ability to hit deadlines and absorb the workload.
- Trends over time: work orders created vs completed, showing whether the team is catching up on backlog or falling behind.
- Breakdowns by status, priority and type, plus the count of overdue and due work orders: a snapshot of your work queue at a given moment.
- Cost and time by asset and by technician (cost and minutes): where the money goes and where the time goes, asset by asset, person by person.
- Operational overviews: requests, assets by status and by criticality, parts below threshold / out of stock / stock value, and preventive plans with their executions.
Step by step

Open the reports
From the main menu, open the Reports section. The dashboard gathers the metrics and the breakdowns. Get into the habit of setting the analysis period (month, quarter) at the start of each session: every figure is read relative to that time window.

Read the key metrics
Start with the four health markers: MTTR (the lower it goes, the faster your repairs), the preventive rate (planned vs reactive work), on-time compliance and backlog. A backlog that grows while throughput stalls is the first warning sign to act on.

Analyze cost and time
Move to cost and time by asset and by technician. Sort assets by cost or by cumulative minutes to surface the ones concentrating the spend. On the technician side, read time spent as a workload, not a score: the aim is to balance and understand, not to penalize.

Spot what weighs the most
Cross-reference your most expensive assets with their criticality, and review parts below threshold, out of stock, and the value of tied-up inventory. A critical asset piling up corrective work orders and high cost is a natural candidate for a reinforced preventive plan or a replacement decision.

Export and present to leadership
Export the data to build your management review. Tell a simple story: where the preventive rate stands, how backlog is trending, which 3 to 5 assets weigh the most. Back every recommendation with a figure shown in Maint Vision to stay credible and verifiable.
Tips & good to know
- Always compare to the same prior period: an MTTR or a backlog only means something as a trend.
- Maint Vision tracks MTTR (mean time to repair). It does not, however, compute MTBF or an equipment availability/uptime rate: don't promise those figures, since the product has no failure log.
- Don't judge a technician on time spent alone: high time may reflect harder assets, not underperformance.
- Set a monthly routine: same reports, same period filter, same presentation outline. Consistency is what makes the numbers actionable.
