Work orders

What it is for

The Work Orders module is the heart of Maint Vision. Every job — whether reactive (a breakdown) or preventive (planned) — is traced from start to finish: what needs doing, who owns it, on which asset, with which parts, and a full history of every action.

Key concepts

Step by step

  1. 01

    Create a work order

From the work-order list, click “New work order”. Fill in the title, description, priority, type, the asset and location concerned, the assignee, the due date and an estimated duration. You can attach a procedure to follow during the job.

  2. 02

    Assign and prioritise

Assign the job to a technician or a team, and set its priority and due date. The assignee finds the work order in their list, on the web and in the mobile app.

  3. 03

Carry it out in the field

The technician opens the work order (or scans the asset’s QR code to reach it) and moves the status to “In progress”. They run the procedure (checkboxes, measurements, photos, signature), consume the parts used and log the time spent — all from their phone.

  4. 04

    Track costs and activity

As the job progresses, the parts consumed and the time logged feed the work order’s cost. The Activity tab keeps a time-stamped history of every change, and comments let the team communicate.

  5. 05

    Close it

Once the job is done, set the status to “Completed”. Start and end dates are recorded automatically, and the work order joins the asset’s history — useful for diagnosis and future decisions.
